Konstantinos “Gus” Deligiannidis was born in Akrolimni, Greece, a twin son to a warm and loving farmer family. Coming from a family with deeply entrenched roots in family values, religion, helping others, and an unyielding work ethic very much shaped his path in life and who he is today.
Although poor, his parents worked hard to make sure their children received the best college education possible, and Gus worked extra hard to ensure that he was making the most of the opportunities he had from a very young age. This mentality landed him at the best university in Greece at the time in Athens, Greece, and subsequently for an MBA in Marketing at Michigan State University.
He and his wife, Effie, both worked diligently in the duration of his studies in the restaurant industry as servers, hosts, and head cooks to support the financing of his studies. Little did Gus know at the time that this first encounter with the food industry would only be the beginning of a 40+ years fascination with what we eat, what we should be eating, and why.
The Best School of All: Hard-Earned Experience
Upon returning to Greece after graduation, Gus was quickly hired as a corporate junior executive at the Hellenic Sugar Industry (a nationalized conglomerate in Greece), where he founded at the time the Marketing Research Department. He submitted well prepared project studies on marketing sugar domestically and internationally.
He left this position to pursue his dream of creating his own business, which he did for almost a decade. It was in 1985 when Gus, and his wife Effie, made another gutsy and life-changing move – they immigrated together with their 3 children to the United States of America to pursue the American dream: A fair shot at success for those that work hard enough to earn it and opportunity for their children to have access to the best possible education.
For the past 30 years, along with his other interests, Gus successfully operates two full service restaurants in South Carolina.
Beginning of fascination with the topic of Natural Health
It was during his time in Athens while earning his Bachelor’s degree that he came across the seeds of his book, A Unique Documentary of Health Through Nutrition, which represents the epitome of his efforts on this topic, written in collaboration with Dr. James L. Wilson D.C., N.D., Ph.D., nutritionist and Dr. Apostolos (Paul) Apostolos Kiritsakis M.SC., Ph.D., world renown olive oil specialist.
Back in those years there was no internet, no cell phones, no drugs, and no jails filled with drug addicts.
Back in those years in the beautiful city of Athens, Greece, people were getting together many times for good fellowship and entertainment and would talk about different topics of interest.
It was in one of those get-togethers that Ted, a friend of Gus’ and an animal husbandry major at the University in Athens, Greece, said: “You can become immune to many diseases when you eat dairy-based foods. At that time, there was probably not much talk about the lack of the mineral calcium, whose presence in our body prevents over 140 diseases.
That statement – about Calcium – stayed with Gus’ subconscious even today. In 2001 it became obvious that Gus needed supplementation of this mineral, through food and supplements, in his body.
Gus continued to educate himself about minerals and vitamins. He went on to an easy to follow diet based on the Greek Mediterranean diet. Calcium, Vitamin C, Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids, Magnesium, Phosphorus, and Potassium all helped him tremendously in his quest for better health, basically without medication. The results were truly extraordinary.
Out of all the minerals and vitamins, we need to stress Vitamin C with Bioflavonoids. Even a doctor’s wife, at a recent live Interactive seminar that Gus led, did not know what this powerful vitamin does when it contains Bioflavonoids. It revitalizes the absorption part of our innate intelligence function so that we absorb the minerals and vitamins from the foods we eat or the supplements we take.
By expressing good faith, Gus then went on and tried to see how he could get some help from exercise. Nobody has one or two hours to exercise. So he did whatever he could. Ten, Twenty or Thirty minutes of light exercise every day. Again, the results were phenomenal. Exercise, along with a simple and meaningful diet (no guru diets) and lots of water, helped him lose over 55 pounds, weight that he has kept off even today!
Alongside all the above actions, and as a consequence, Gus was also able to reduce his anxiety and depression, a hereditary disorder in his family, from which he suffered from as long as he could remember.
This is the background that inspired him to write the book “A Unique Documentary of Health through Nutrition.”
“Learning Never Ends” believes Gus. It is partly this belief that was a conviction for him to start doing lectures on the topics he loves. Over the past 36 years, Gus has had the honor to present as guest seminar instructor to several organizations, as well as colleges, both in the US and Greece. He covers topics in Marketing, Sales Management, cultural differences between Greece and USA, and the topic most close to his heart, Health through Nutrition. During this time he has provided leadership and guidance that have established him as an outstanding instructor. Very notably, in all his classes there are always a few extra participants beyond the roll call, a true testament of his ability to grab people’s attention and thirst for learning. Among the groups that have invited him have been schools and churches in the local and surrounding communities in the Carolinas.

Nothing has ever fascinated Gus more than this very timely subject of health through nutrition. With today’s rising health care costs, prevention and alternative ways of healing impairments is becoming of utmost importance.
For more than 25 years he and his staff have been researching, storing and validating data, observations and anecdotal stories in this field. The epitome of his effort was the creation of this website, Complete Health Through Nutrition, where he presents his views and observations on the topic in an easy-to-understand way, and in a way through which people can educate themselves with a goal to achieve better health and add more healthy years to their lives.
Gus is an active member of the following organizations:
